My First Shaker Card!

Hello all,

So I wanted to share my first shaker card I made with the Fuse Tool from We R Memory Keepers.

The small little bunnies as well as the large bunny on the tag was made using the wafer dies from Simon Says Stamp “My Kind of Peep“. I used the matching stamp set to stamp the bunny and the sentiments. The other stamp set and wafer dies I used was the Lawn Fawn “Tag, Your It” dies and the Lawn Fawn stamp set “Winter Gifts“. The inks I used were Picked Raspberry and Orange Marmalade Distress Inks and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used a copic marker to color in the bunny.

The mixture I used for the actual SHAKER portion is Recollections sequins as well as yellow and white sequins from card kits from Simon Says Stamp and some bella bling from a long long time ago! The tiny bunnies are made from Simon Says Stamp cardstock in Doll Pink, Green Apple and Orange Peel!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful easter!

Happy Friday!!

Hello all!

Happy Friday!

In the spirit of the  weekend here is another addition to The Card Concept. I took the Green part of the challenge 🙂 You can find their page here

50

So here is my clean and layered card for this challenge.

I’ve been working on my Copic coloring so this is my green-inspired attempt 🙂 Green usually isn’t in my color palette (besides grass or leaves) so this was an actual challenge.

For the dies I used the Large oval and large scalloped oval with my Cuttlebug. To adhere the Bella Bling I used Glossy Accents.

I really think this is a cute card and easy to recreate since it’s pretty basic.

Hoppy Easter

Hi all,

Easter is almost here which means the start of some Easter cards for me. And a gift for me was the newest Simon Says Stamp card kit labeled “Favorite Peeps”. You can find it here .

I absolutely am in love with the new stamp set which is called “My Kind of Peep”.

I found embossing the little sentiment at the top of the card really made it pop.

The pattern paper as well as the cardstock supplied is so bright and colorful it just screams spring! and of course I had to add some Recollections enamel dots and a brush of Wink of Stella!

Craft Smith Solid Texture Card

Under the Sea!

Hello all,

Here is another card I made using the Kraftin Kimmie Stamp set Nerissa.

20160302_152419

For the background I used Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Hillside Borders which I edged with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. For the image I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Copics. I finished off with the Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the bottom half of the mermaid and blue enamel dots finished the card off.

20160302_152429

On the inside I just used the basic Happy Birthday sentiment from Close to my Heart’s Joyful Birthday Occasions stamp set. and used the little crab from Nerissa which I colored with R46 and R20 and dotted with my white gel pen.

Supplies:

AC Summer Cardstock

Blue velvet cardstock (from my stash)

Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders

Quickutz frame

Spellbinders – Large Scalloped Circle and Large Circle die set

My Tools and everyday supplies

Hello all,

I wanted to share the every-card tools and supplies I use to create my cards. Everything I’ve had for a long time and is a great investment.

20160302_121624.jpg

This is the Tim Holtz Tonic Scissors which I absolutely love for fussy cutting, trimming, cutting rubber stamps apart when I get them (such as Kraftin Kimmie stamps which I have to mount myself on ez- mount). They’re comfortable to use and a great investment Tip: when trimming rubber stamps (with ezz mount) I dip my scissors in baby powder to keep the ez-mount from sticking).

20160302_121706.jpg

This is my sanding block that I use to sand the edges of the paper I use, It’s basically fine-grit sandpaper wrapped around a block of foam. I love this and got it from the hardware store for cheap!

The other item is my stamp-a-ma-jig from EK Success that comes with a piece of clear plastic which I use some of the time to position my stamps, especially my sentiment stamps. I got this awhile ago.!

20160302_121746.jpg

These two are pretty basic, I got the pink post-it tape from the local Dollerama for just 2 bucks. I use this to hold down the dies for my Cuttlebug or to even mask.

The other item is unscented travel wipes, I usually use baby wipes but I’m all out right now ;P

20160302_121759.jpg

This is pretty much the greatest thing! The score tape and the X-Press foam tape, I love these two adhesives and I rarely use anything else.

Above is two pens. One is the Copic Multi Liner in 0.3 and the other is Sakura Pigma Micron01 025mm line width. Although most of the time I use the Copic one I like the sakura for the edging of my stamps

the other picture has my Zig Wink of Stella pen in GL.Clear 999. I love this to add that glitter! The other two are a plastic white pallet knife I use for embossing paste and the other is the Uni-ball Signo Gel pen in White.

March showers bring April flowers?

Hi all! Happy March!

I cant believe it’s already March! Can you? As I’m typing this blog post my area is in the middle of a snow storm and we’re expected to get 20-25cm! Yikes!

So I’ve been stuck on how to do this card for a couple days, I colored the image and left it alone hoping something would come to me when I was browsing through my 6*6 paper and came across this beautiful raindrop paper by Basic Grey. I use this patterned paper a lot and got in in one of the Simon Says Stamp card kits one month, I cant remember the month though 😉

So here it is…

I really liked the Image, and I thought the dots for the “rain” would be cute.

The last thing I did was add the Stickles, I wasn’t sure about it but I thought it just gave the card a little something extra.

I loved the enamel dots and on the inside of the card I thought the boots would make a cute little embellishment at the bottom. Don’t ask me where I got the ribbon cause I wouldn’t know, it’s been in my stash for awhile ;P

-Ashlee

Supplies:

Copics – G00, E11, B02, B05

My Favorite Things – Rain or Shine (I’m pretty sure this stamp set is retired because I cannot find it on their site)

Neenah Solar White 80lb Cardstock

Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Craft Smith Solid Texture Card

Basic Grey – Fresh Cut

Distress Ink – Stormy Sky

Recollections Enamel Dots

Ranger Stickles (Turquoise and Cotton Candy)

You’ve Got Mail

Hello all,

I made this card after signing up for Split Coast Stampers and coming across a challenge titled “Going Postal”.

Here is my card

20160227_13232020160227_132330

I left the inside pretty blank so I could write more, as this would be a card I would most likely send to family out of the province.

The supplies I used are:

Stamp: Lawn Fawn – You’ve Got Mail

Ciao Copics: BV23 AND R46

Distress Ink: Peacock Feathers, Fired Brick and Vintage Photo

Other Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Close To My Heart Chocolate Dye Ink

Card: Craft Smith Solid Texture Card (brought from New Zealand for me)

Cardstock: I’m pretty sure it’s from Lawn Fawn but I cant be sure.

Adhesives: X-press Foam Tape and Sookwang double sided tape

Embellishments: I’m not sure where I got the ribbon from. It was just hanging around in my ribbon stash 🙂

I really think it turned out to be a cute card and could be easily done again and again.

Distress Ink Quick Tip

Hello all,

So I decided to share my giant swatch for my Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I used the cute little hedgehogs from Lawn Fawn’s Hedgehugs stamp set. You can find that stamp here from Lawn Fawn’s website. Its a great stamp that I love using over and over again.

I keep my mini inks in the Tim Holtz storage tin for the mini inks.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My first blog post :)

Hello all! To start off my very first blog post I’ve decided to tell you a little about myself. I live in Canada and have always loved arts and crafts and all around being creative. I started off paper crafting through Creative Memories which a lot of you probably know. I fell in love with paper crafting and soon moved on from Creative Memories to scrapbooking through paper crafting stores. I feel like I own a little store with all I’ve purchased and have stored in my closet!

Lately I’ve really been into Simon Says Stamp stamps, Kraftin Kimmie stamps and Faber Castell Gelatos. And of course my Cuttlebug!

I’m going to try to post as often as I can pictures of cards I’ve done. Here’s to a 2016 full of card making and creativity!
